"He looks like me, except that he's green!"
— Gordon, criticizing Henry's old shape

Henry is a short magazine story.

Henry enjoys being a Really Useful Engine, but still remembers the troubles he had during his early years. When he first arrived, his shape was nearly identical to Gordon's and he could not get up enough steam. Sir Topham Hatt decided to give Henry some Welsh coal to build up more steam which worked well until Sir Topham Hatt gave Henry a new shape which made him feel more useful then ever.

  • Henry has steampipes throughout the story even though he did not have them in his old shape.
